Friday started with a very important match for the Russian fans – the Russians Natalia Uryadova – Alexandra Shiryaeva competed with the Arvaniti – Karadassiou from Greece. Both teams have already lost once in the tournament and were to play in the loser’s bracket match. The Greek`s performance was not brilliant and the Russians managed to take over them several times in the course of the match. After losing the first set 22:20, the Russians seemed more confident at the beginning of the second set. Arvaniti and Karadassiou, however, showed a good teamwork supporting each other in playing different combinations and quickly extended their lead in the second set. The Greeks scored a 2:0 win.
