The exultation of the Russian fans has no boundaries! Dmitry Barsouk and Igor Kolodinsky scored a triumphal victory 25-23, 21-17 over the second in FIVB ranking Brazilians Marcio Araujo and Fabio Magalhaes. Despite the fact that it was already the third winning Saturday match for the Russian team and their opponents were able to have much more possibility to rest before the game, the Russians snatched the first set victory at 25-23 score. The second set was a real fight, the advantage swung from one team to another. After a timeout the Russians took the lead completely and finished the set at 21:18. Thus, after a 2:0 winning match, Barsouk and Kolodinsky advanced to the finals. Tomorrow the Russians will oppose the winners of another semi-final match Pedro Salgado and Harley Marques (Brazil).

It will be the first St. Petersburg Open gold medal match for the Russians.

The men’s final match starts at 16 p.m. at the central court at Peter and Paul Fortress. Come and support our athletes!!!
