Dear sport lovers!

On behalf of the organizers I am pleased to welcome you to the International Beach Volleyball Tournament SWATCH-FIVB World Tour St. Petersburg Open.

First of all, I would like to thank you for the interest that you have showed in this sport event and the active support of competition participants. Since 2005, when the tournament was first organized, SWATCH-FIVB World Tour St. Petersburg Open has been able to win its loyal supporters. Despite the vagaries of our short northern summer, both athletes and ordinary residents of St. Petersburg wish to watch the beautiful and exciting play of professionals.  

This year we face difficult conditions; the tournament is for the first time organized in the late summer and early autumn. Nevertheless, we hope that due to our experience and assistance of the partners of the competition we will be able to organize for participants and guests a world-class event, and the unpredictable weather will not affect the mood of athletes and audiences.

The 2007 competition will take place when the school vacations are ending and the new academic year is beginning. Therefore we invite schoolchildren and students to join the sport celebration on the beach of the Peter-and-Paul fortress and partake of the spirit of victory for the forthcoming year of studies.

I wish success to participants and new wonderful impressions to guests of this event.
